How it works

Create your account
Email and a password. Add the grades you are comfortable on — they are how you see climbers at your level before you arrange anything.

Post or browse a session
Say where and when you are climbing — or open the map and find someone who already did.

Ask to join and go climb
Once your request is approved you are set. Sort out the details in the chat, then show up — your new climbing partner is waiting.

Halfrope knows the crags and walls across Europe before anybody posts a session. You pick the place off the map instead of typing an address.

Common questions — briefly.
Does Halfrope cost anything?
No. The account, sessions, friends and trips are free. Courses can be paid — the instructor sets the price and you settle it directly, with no app in between.
Nobody has posted a session in my town. What then?
Post the first one. Halfrope is new in most towns, but the map already knows more than 57,000 places — your wall is certainly on it.
Who sees my plans?
You decide for each session and trip: everyone, or friends only. You pick the default on your profile.
I teach, or I run a wall. How do I start?
The same as anyone: make an account and post a course. Courses are always visible to everyone, so they reach people you do not know yet.
Is there a phone app?
Yes — Halfrope is on Google Play for Android and on the App Store for iPhone. It also works in the browser on any phone.
